Mr. Drobnjak Dragan, the delegate from Montenegro, attending the first FIVB Congress for his nation |
Tokyo, 23rd October 2006 – One of the first resolutions of the FIVB Congress, which was officially opened by Mr Yoshiro Mori, former Prime Minister of Japan and President of the Japan Sports Association, was to approve the affiliation of the new Volleyball Federation of Montenegro, which was established after the amicable separation of Serbia and Montenegro. The Volleyball Federation of Serbia takes over the legacy of the former Volleyball Federation of Serbia and Montenegro and players who are nationals of both states may freely choose their federation of origin. This brings the total number of national federations affiliated to the FIVB to 219. |
