FIVB Agent Regulations now available online
Lausanne, Switzerland, June 11, 2014 – The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is pleased to announce the publication of its inaugural FIVB Agent Regulations – 2014.
Following the approval by the FIVB Board of Administration on April 4, the FIVB have created agent regulations for the first time with the aim to have a fair, harmonized and transparent system for agents as well as to ensure a sufficient level of protection both for the athletes using the services of agents and for others who may be required to deal with agents as part of their activities.
The regulations, which were finalised after an 18-month consultation process with national federation representatives, members of the FIVB Legal Commission and Sports Events Department as well as an in-depth study of other Olympic sports, apply to International Transfers and to the contractual relations of athletes /coaches when they agree to perform their services outside the territory of their Federation of Origin.
Articles 1, 2 and 9 enter into force immediately while all other provisions enter into force on April 1, 2015.
The Agent Regulations are the seventh and latest set of regulations produced by the FIVB in the past 14 months with updated General Regulations and new Disciplinary, Financial, Sports, Medical and Anti-doping, and FIVB Tribunal all available on the FIVB website for downloading: http://www.fivb.org/EN/FIVB/Legal.asp
