Beach volleyball Summer Festival ends in Bosnia and Herzegovina

138 boys and girls aged from 8 to 18 joined the inaugural CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Summer Festival held in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, August 18, 2014 - The first edition of the CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Summer Festival held in Brcko came to an end on Sunday. The event gathered 138 boys and girls from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, who all received gold medals and diplomas for their enthusiastic participation.

A big thank you goes to over one hundred volunteers, officials, coaches, members of the Folklore Society and members of the Organising Committee, who worked very hard to make this event the success it was. The Festival also attracted many fans of beach volleyball, parents and citizens of Brcko, who cheered on the participants in the beautiful surroundings of Ficibajer and Prohema.

The Festival, which took place over two days, catered for boys and girls from 8 to 18 years of age, and saw beach volleyball played on two courts for over 18 hours.

“We embraced the organisation of this Festival and its many goals: competition, friendship, fun, making new friends, building a sports culture. The Festival has a much wider significance than a simple competition. That is why we have not declared any first, or second, or third-placed teams. The point is that we have given prizes to all participants. This festival will become a tradition, and I am sure that in the future it will attract a much larger number of participants,” said Mr Milutin Popovic, President of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
