Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, July 22, 2014 - A VCP Young Players Course began on Monday, July 21, in Brazzaville, the capital city of the Republic of the Congo, where 19 young students and players and national team coaches are attending the five-day course.

The aim of the course is to develop the participants’ knowledge of the sport and to promote volleyball in the Republic of the Congo. Through this course, the Brazzaville Congolese Federation aims to develop technical and tactical qualities in their young players and direct them on the path to a better future.

Jean Paul Mopita, President of the National Federation, led the opening ceremony, together with members of the federation's technical staff. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the FIVB and his great desire that the course will bring a positive contribution to the further development of volleyball in the country. Mopita initiated a long-term development plan which began in 2012, of which the development of youth volleyball is a part.

The course takes place as Congo aim to put together the best possible team for the African Games, which the country will be hosting. The national federation made a variety of didactical materials available for the course, which have helped to create the right conditions for the theoretical and practical classes.
