Breakthrough VCP course held in Liberia
A total of 23 participants, 18 men and five women, all coming from the host country, joined the inaugural VCP course in Liberia|
Monrovia, Liberia, March 19, 2014 - The Liberia Volleyball Federation, with the support of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), organized its first ever Volleyball Cooperation Programme - Refereeing from March 10 to 14 in Monrovia.
The programme, which depended on the close collaboration of the Liberia Volleyball Federation President Mr Moffie Kennah, was led by instructor Mr. Solomon Bekele from Ethiopia and included 23 participants, 18 men and five women, all coming from the host country who joined the programme and passed the final exam.
"It was the first time that Liberia conducted this type of course. Even though, the programme certified 23 referees, for the future, the instructor recommends that more courses should be allocated in order to have sufficient referees in the country.”
The Liberia course was the sixth FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme - Refereeing held so far in 2014 and the eighth FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme overall including coaches courses.
The FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme calendar for 2014 features 59 in events including 11 courses for Referees, 17 for Coaches, 12 for Teachers, eight for Young Players, and 11 for Beach Volleyball Grassroots.
