VCP programme benefits referees in Comoros
The VCP Referees Level 1 course was run by instructor Mr. Emile Jabbour from Lebanon, with collaboration of the National Federation of the Comoros and the FIVB.
A total of 20 native referees, including 9 national referees who are working actively within the national championships, took part in the course. Participants included physical education students, referees and coaches – were given theoretical instruction about the latest addition to the Rules of the Game and other technical aspects of the game.
During the course, there was also an organised tournament with three teams to allow the referees to referee under instructions from the course director who was accompanied by the NF president M. Madiane Mohamed Issa, who was active during the whole course.
The closing ceremony attended by the president of the National Olympic Committee, together with the representative from the Ministry of Sports, including other invited guests from the Federation and the Olympic Committee.
Jabbour stated that he was impressed with the hard work of the Federation and the fact that it organises a 1st division competition of 12 teams, 2nd division with 14 teams including strong development for the youth level.
