Hagåtña, Guam, November 29, 2012 – Elementary, middle and high school physical education coaches have come together at the first ever Volleyball Cooperation Programme (VCP) course in Guam, under the leadership of FIVB instructor, Sue Gozansky.

Sue Gozansky is a well-known coach in the USA who has guided the University of California-Riverside volleyball programme for the past 37 seasons, the second longest tenure of any coach at the NCAA Division I level. In addition to being a certified instructor for the FIVB, Gozansky has written two books on volleyball and has conducted volleyball coaching clinics all over the world.

With support offered by the FIVB, National Federations like that of Guam are able to benefit from the expertise of professionals like Sue Gozansky to help develop volleyball and beach volleyball in their respective countries. The programme also provides these Federations with manuals and volleyball equipment to help improve the local infrastructure for the sport.

For National Federation president, Sandra Low, the programme has helped to advance her tireless efforts to improve the skill set and the opportunities for local community involvement in volleyball.

The VCP course was established to provide equal opportunities to National Federations from all over the world, with the aim of developing volleyball and beach volleyball through a top quality programme for young players, teachers, coaches and referees.
