Vanuatu completes VCP

The course concluded with a national under 16 beach volleyball tournament
Port Vila, Vanuatu, July 9, 2012 - A FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme Beach Volleyball Refereeing Course concluded in Port Vila, Vanuatu on Saturday.

FIVB Instructor Avelino Azevedo led the clinic, which welcomed 25 candidates from many of the country’s islands.

The course included several theoretical and practical sessions, and concluded with an under 16 national event, where all participants had the chance to be referees, scorers, linejudges and court assistants.

After the huge success of the women's beach volleyball team, which almost qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games, Debbie Wooster-Masaufakalo, Vanuatu National Federation president, said at the closing ceremony that "the next step will be to organize and prepare a four year plan to prepare for Rio 2016 Olybmpic Games.”
