Team: Gibb/Patterson

Gibb and Patterson formed their partnership at the start of the 2013 season and captured a gold medal in their second FIVB World Tour event at the Chinese Grand Slam in Shanghai. The pair has competed in 30 FIVB World Tour events with two gold medals, six podium placements and seven “final four” finishes together. Gibb and Patterson have teamed to win 107 of 156 FIVB World Tour matches (68.6 winning percentage). The pair has medaled twice in 2015 with a podium-topping performance in the United States Grand Slam in St. Petersburg by defeating Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst in the finals. Gibb and Patterson netted the silver medal at last month’s Polish Grand Slam in Olsztyn after losing the finale to Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt of Brazil. On the AVP tour, Gibb and Patterson have won 10 of 20 events with 12 appearances in title matches with 18 “final four” appearances and an 83-18 match record (82.2%). The pair also played in one NORCECA event in 2014 with a second in Trinidad and Tobago. Overall, Gibb and Patterson have played together in 51 events with a 195-68 match mark (74.1%).

Patterson played in his first FIVB World Tour event in 2011. After skipping the 2012 season, Patterson returned to international play with Gibb in 2013. Patterson has competed in 39 FIVB World Tour events with all his top finishes being with Gibb. Patterson’s FIVB World Tour match record is 124-63 (66.3%). His first two FIVB partners were the husbands of Olympic medal winners April Ross (Brad Keenan) and Kerri Walsh Jennings (Casey Jennings).

Gibb is a two-time Olympian as he and Sean Rosenthal placed fifth at both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Summer Games. In 100 FIVB World Tour starts, Gibb has claimed six gold medals with 20 podium placements and 24 “final four” finishes with a 343-180 match mark (65.6%). Gibb and Rosenthal were the FIVB World Tour champions in 2012. Nicknamed “Spiker”, Gibb started playing on the FIVB World Tour in 2005 when he was named the circuit’s top rookie in 2005. He was honored as the world tour’s most inspirational player in both 2013 and 2014.
