Mauricio Vieyto (right) and Marco Cairus of Uruguay are top seeds in men's elimination bracket at Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Nanjing, China, August 22, 2014 - The 24 teams advancing to the men’s single-elimination bracket for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games have been confirmed as pairs from all five FIVB confederations will be represented when bracket plays begins Sunday at the Beach Volleyball venue in the Nanjing Sports Park Complex.

With eight tandems earning first-round “byes” due their performance in the five days of pool play competition, the other 16 pairs will learn their opening round opponent at a Saturday morning technical meeting where a draw will be held to place those nations in the elimination bracket.

The eight seeded teams in the elimination bracket include the six pool play winners along with the two best second-place finishers in the groups based on their match record, and set and point ratios.  Uruguay (Pool A winner Marco Cairus/Mauricio Vieyto) will be seeded first followed by Germany (B), Puerto Rico (C), Ukraine (D), Russia (E) and Venezuela (F).

France (C) and Finland (A) were the best second-place finishers and will be seeded seventh and eighth, respectively.
