Mauricio Vieyto Acosta (left) and Marco Cairusi celebrate a point during the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games as the team from Uruguay is tied for the leadership in Pool A.

Nanjing, China, August 19, 2014 - Ten countries continue with “perfection” after the completion of the third of five days of pool play at the Beach Volleyball venue for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games at the Nanjing Sports Park Complex.

Although practices are scheduled for Wednesday, the Beach Volleyball competition will take its first of two “rest” days before resuming Thursday.  The second “break” for the 36-nation field will be Saturday when the 24-team single-elimination bracket will be confirmed.

With an unexpected three-set win Monday over a team from Finland and sandwiched with victories over Oman and Nigeria, Cairus and Vieyto control their fate in secure a “bye” in Sunday’s opening elimination rounds with remaining matches against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Thursday) Kazakhstan (Friday).
