Exciting beach volleyball partnership opportunities available
With international beach volleyball at an unprecedented high with record prize money and events, organisers have the opportunity to join the FIVB and organise an event at any level from the FIVB World Tour through to Challenger, Satellite, County vs Country and Exhibition tournaments.
“I encourage all interested organisations to come forward and host an event on the beach volleyball circuit next year,” said FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F°. “These tournaments bring together the best athletes that beach volleyball has to offer and are an important vehicle for the growth of the sport all over the world. It is also a perfect way to persuade local youth to take up the sport and practice it for themselves or professionally.”
The terms and conditions can be found for the following FIVB Beach Volleyball events:
- FIVB World Tour - Grand Slam & Open (2015-2018);
- FIVB World Tour Finals for 2015;
- FIVB Age Group World Championships - U17, U19, U21 and U23 (2016);
- FIVB Continental Cup Olympic Qualification (2016);
- FIVB Continental Cup Finals (2016);
- Challenger, Satellite, Country vs. Country and Exhibition tournaments (2015).
A record $10.2m in prize money, nine Grand Slams and 11 Open tournaments are the highlights of a record-breaking 2014 beach volleyball calendar. It is a significant increase on the 10 Grand Slams and four Open tournaments which featured along with the World Championships in 2013 and carried total prize money of $6.4m. The previous record prize money for a season was $7.5m in 2011.
For the first time in FIVB history, two of the Grand Slams (The Hague and Long Beach) in 2014 will have a prize pot of $1m, while the other eight will feature a total purse of $800,000 – nearly double the prize money of $440,000 on offer for Grand Slams in 2013.
The 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour kicked off at the Fuzhou Open in China on April 22 and will conclude with the Durban Open on the shores of South Africa’s Indian Ocean from December 9 to 14.
