536 teams take part in 15th Beach Volleyball Festival Komus in Solnechnoye

 
28 beach volleyball courts were set up for the annual Beach Volleyball Festival in Solnechnoye

Solnechnoye, Russia, July 7, 2014 - The 15th annual Beach Volleyball Festival Komus in Solnechnoye, promoted by the regional volleyball federation of North-Western Russia, was held from July 4 to 6 on the shores of the Gulf of Finland with 536 participating teams representing 16 different regions.  

A total of 28 beach volleyball courts were set up in the magnificent location to host the matches of the three-day long event.

The tournament was open to all groups, including children and veterans, professional volleyball players and amateurs, families, VIPs, media representatives, Paralympic athletes. Gifts and giveaways were distributed by the sponsors of the event, including t-shirts, balls, tea collections, writing sets and many more. The pros who joined their ad-hoc tournament battled it out also for the 200,000 rubles in prize money.

An interactive programme with many gifts was organised for adults and children, with an IPad for the grand prize. 

Financial support was provided by Russia’s Ministry of Sports, the Committee of Sports of St. Petersburg, the Russian Volleyball Federation and sponsors Komus, Rosgeologiya, Gazprom, Orimi Trade, Avrora, Gold, Olimp and the official drink of the festival - tea TESS.
