Zurich, Switzerland, April 10, 2014 – A number of stars will be finalising their plans for the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour when the Swiss Tour begins in Zurich.

Spain’s Liliana Fernandez and Elsa Baquerizo will start the tournament as defending women’s champions, while the men’s tournament will be headed up by Germany’s Kay Matysik and Jonathan Erdmann, bronze medallists at the 2013 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships.

The tournament runs from April 10 – April 13 and takes place in downtown Zurich, next to the central train station, while the 2014 World Tour begins at the Fuzhou Open in China, a tournament that runs from April 22-27.

Swiss hopes will focus on Anouk Verge-Depre and Isabelle Forrer, who won silver in 2013, while the 2013 men’s winners Mirco Gerson and Alexei Prawdzic will play with new partners.

Gerson will pair up with Philip Gabathuler, while Prawdzic links up with Swiss Olympian Sebastien Chevallier.
