Anapa prepares for 2014 season with CEV event

Russia’s Konstantin Semenov (left) and Yaroslav Koshkarev will be competing for further glory in Anapa
Anapa, Russia, January 7, 2014 – FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Open venue Anapa will have the chance to prepare for the 2014 season when it hosts the CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite Tournament from January 15-19.

The venue on Russia’s Black Sea coast hosted an FIVB Open for the first time in 2014 and will welcome the beach volleyball world for a second Open from May 27 – June 1.

Russia’s Konstantin Semenov won men’s gold in 2013 alongside Yaroslav Koshkarev and while both will compete in the CEV Satellite, it will be with different partners; Semenov will pair up with Viacheslav Krasilnikov, while Koshkarev will play alongside Ruslan Bykanov.

There were Russian winners in the women’s competition too when Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Khomyakova defeated Germany’s Teresa Mersmann and Isabel Schneider. Ukolova will be out for another title in Anapa when she teams up alongside Maria Prokopeva.
