May-Treanor, Walsh Jennings reflect on Olympic journey

 
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings won their third successive Olympic gold on August 8, 2012 in London
Colorado, USA, August 19, 2013 - Sometimes it’s not any one individual feat that defines “greatness” as much as it is the culmination of many accomplishments. Three-peat Olympic beach volleyball gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings are worldwide icons that exemplify this very scenario.

One year ago this month, this sand-loving, goal-achieving duo were not only crowned Olympic champions in London, but also became the first women’s team in Olympic history to win three consecutive golds in any sport while maintaining the same team. Earning one Olympic gold medal is an exceptional accomplishment. To win three in three consecutive Olympic Games is historic.
