IBRCC course takes place in Vaduz

FIVB refereeing courses are in place to keep referees' knowledge and competence of volleyball and beach volleyball rules in line with current trends in the sport

Vaduz, Liechtenstein, August 12, 2013 – The Volleyball Federation of Liechtenstein hosted an International Beach Volleyball Refereeing Candidate Course (IBRCC) from August 4 to 11.

The course, an annual event, saw the participation of eight candidates from Austria, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Israel and Slovenia. All eight participants passed the course with flying colours.

The course was directed by José Casanova (FIVB Beach Volleyball Refereeing Commissioner) and instructed by Sandy Steel (President of the FIVB Rules of the Game Commission). The practical examination for the participants was conducted on August 7.

Prior to the start of the course, Casanova had the opportunity to inspect the sites and to ensure that all the preparations were at the highest standard for the participants during the course.

The FIVB refereeing courses are in place to keep referees' knowledge and competence of volleyball and beach volleyball rules in line with current trends in the sport.

International Referee Candidate courses and Continental events, as well as refresher courses are held throughout the year. The goal of FIVB is to encourage the development of refereeing skills all over the world.
