National Beach Circuit: Third consecutive title for Mehamen-Azaad

Mehamed-Azaad also defeated Santa Fe's Angel Verzzali and Tucuman Francisco Galeano in the semi-finals

Cordoba, Argentina, February 18, 2013 – At the second stop of the National Beach Volleyball Circuit for the 2013 season, Ian Mehamed and Julian Azaad showed their fans why they are the best ranked team of Argentine Beach Volleyball, having won their third consecutive gold medal. After winning in Cerrito and in the open competition in Miramar the duo took the final match in Cordoba against rivals, Juan Simon Zorrilla and Facundo Del Coto 2-0 (21-9, 21-12).

Mehamed-Azaad also defeated Santa Fe's Angel Verzzali and Tucuman Francisco Galeano in two sets while Zorrilla-Del Coto overcame Pablo Suarez-Santiago Etchegaray 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Etchegaray was the awarded the David Fuentes Cup for being the top scorer of the competition.

Meanwhile, at the women exhibition match the Mendoza sisters, Florencia and Michella Di Cesare, showed a great deal of promise for competition at the national level.
