Zumkehr to play with Heidrich

Zumkehr said her new partner Joana Heidrich, an FIVB SWATCH Junior World Championship winner last year, has the potential to be one of the world's best blockers
Lausanne, Switzerland, October 11, 2012 - Switzerland's Nadine Zumkehr announced that she will form a team with 21-year-old Joana Heidrich starting next season.

Zumkehr has been without a partner since the retirement of Simone Kuhn following the London Olympics. In 2012 the pair won a Grand Slam title in Rome, won bronze at Gstaad, and finished ninth in London.

"It will be an incredibly exciting challenge to see how well this partnership sparks and see how far we can go together," said the 27-year-old Zumkehr. She said her new partner who was an FIVB SWATCH Junior World Championship winner in 2011 has great potential and could be one of the world's best interior blockers.
