Thirty-five people are attending the course, which aims to improve the level of beach volleyball in Iran and is being organised by the Training and Research Department of the Iran Volleyball Federation under the supervision of the FIVB.
Sixty-five people applied to take part in the course, indicating the high level of interest in beach volleyball in the country.
The FIVB nominated Athanasios Papageorgiou as the course instructor.
Even though the usual length of such courses is five days, the course in Iran will run for 10 days as the Iran Volleyball Federation deemed five days too short.
The course will cover theory, practical matters, exercises, techniques, tactics and strategies.
Many of the participants are from Iran’s provinces, showing that interest in beach volleyball has spread around the country. The course will try to stimulate further development and expansion of beach volleyball in Iran.
