Women s Olympic Games 2004 - Press Conference

Press conference

Brazil beat Korea 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-23) - duration 1:18
22-Aug, start time: 19:30, end time: 20:48 - Attendance: 8'020
City: Athens; Hall : Peace and Friendship Stadium
Fernanda VENTURINI (BRA) - captain

"We made some great blocks and attacks. It was a completely different game for us compared to the other matches we have had. There were pleanty of differences between our game and their Asian style. In the third set it was difficult for us to control the game. It is important, though, that we won 3-0. Now, we have to concentrate because we will have to face more difficult matches. The US is a team with tradition; Germany has very good players. I think that playing against USA is going to be tough."

Min Jung KU (KOR) - captain

"I have nothing special to say. Brazil is a very good team. We attacked but they received very well and won the sets."

Jose GUIMARAES (BRA) - head coach

"We had a good blocking game and a good match today."

On the following matches:

"I do not have any preference between USA and Germany as opponents. It is hard to choose. We are prepared to play against either team. It is important for us to be the first in our pool, not because we wanted to choose a less difficult opponent, but because we wanted to make some good performances. The US is a tougher team compared to Germany, but we do not underestimate any team. We shall wait for the result of the match between Cuba and the USA ."

Cheol Yong KIM (KOR) - head coach

"We were very heavy today. Brazil is a good team. We are a little bit unhappy and disappointed."
