Megumi KURIHARA (JPN) - wing spiker

"We lost two matches and this win was very important for us. We tried hard, and gave everything we could to win."

Eleftheria CHATZINIKOU (GRE) - setter
"It was a tough game; the most important in the history of Greek Volleyball. We were very stressed. We wanted to start the game hard but it didn't work to our favour. We tried hard to win, but our mistakes were ahead of us."

Shoichi YANAGIMOTO (JPN) - head coach
"Previously, we lost two tough matches. We had to win and we are very happy that we have accomplished our goal today. We were a bit under pressure but for the next matches, we will try to work on our concentration and win."

Dimitrios FLOROS (GRE) - head coach
"This was an important match. We fought very hard, but the team of Japan was very good. We made a change, which helped us a lot, but we gave up aces, which we should have resisted. We played against a strong team, which we could only have faced in the World Championships or Olympic Games. They were better and they won."
