France concede crucial set
World championship bronze medalists France had very little difficulty beating 2003 African Nations champions Tunisia but crucially, they lost one set, which could play against them in the calculations for the Pool A quarterfinalists.

France must now wait for Poland's result against Argentina. If Poland wins more than one set they will advance to the quarterfinals.

The Tricolours were the heavy favorite for this match and although they kept up their reputation, they didn't collect the all-important straight sets victory which would have made things more complicated for Poland. Of course, a Polish victory will eliminate all the calculations and see the Poles possible finish in third or second spot depending on other results.

Right from the opening whistle France knew they had a game on their hands but in the end their experience was the difference when claiming the first set by two points.

Tunisia showed increased resistance in the second set, tying the match at 1-1, but France fought back to claim the third before cruising to the fourt-set win.

France were guided offensively by Stephan ANTIGA (14 points), Dominique DAQUIN (13 points) and Laurent CAPET (12 points), while Marouane FEHRI was the top scorer for Tunisia (and the match) with 21 points.
