Greece makes perfect start in Olympic debut
Greece celebrated their debut at the Olympics with a comfortable straight-sets Pool A win over Tunisia at the Peace and Friendship Stadium 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-17).

Tunisia guided by Noureddine HFAIEDH - who has been a player in Greece in the past - seemed in the beginning ready to ruin the opening party of hosts Greece and took the early lead.

However, the Greeks answered back with some excellent serves and great kill-blocks. In fact, the blocking ability of the Greeks, which provided 12 points in total, was the key factor in the first set as the hosts claimed the honors 25-20 in front of a rousing crowd.

A similar pattern continued in the second set with Tunisia starting well, but Tontor-Zlatko BAEV's aces gave Greece the extra push to turn things around. From the moment the hosts went ahead in the middle of the first set they were never threatened again as they ran out comfortable 25-14 winners.

Good serving by the Greeks continued as they collected 10 points in total from aces and the Tunisian team couldn't respond as they faced problems with their reception. Once again the home side took full advantage and once they grabbed the lead there was no looking back as Greece cruised to a 25-17 win on the back of some wonderful crowd support.

Greece were offensively led by Marios GKIOURDAS, Antrei KRAVARIK, and BAEV who had 15, 14 and 13 points respectively.

For Tunisia the highest scorer and only player to reach double figures was Noureddine HFAIEDH with 10 points
