The potent spike service of the middle blocker Ewelina Janicka and the opposite spiker Patrycja Flakus was the key factor of the success specially because it wasn’t tolerated by the Algerian players who tried their best in attacks to overcome their defensive problems but Poland was also their with the impermeable block.
Poland’s Iga Chojnacka topped the scoring with 10 points including 2 aces but her colleague Ewelina Janicka scored 6 aces.
Celia Azamoum recorded 5 points and for his team as the best scorer of her side.
29th ranked Poland defeated the 17th Algeria with even biggest gap in scores than Turkey did against the North African on Friday.
Match started with spike of Patricja Flakus and continued in such attacking manner by Poland. The only lost made by them untill the first technical timeout was due to one of spike's being out. Possibly it was a psychological pressure by Poland previous victory over Egypt that made Algeria loss several aces by Ewelina Janicka. So Poland could make a run of 13-1 when Janicka lost her service.
Obvious leader of the match, Poland went to the STT 16-4 ahead, and continued the same manner by two successful spikes from Natalia Gajewska. Algerian Louiza Bayou tried to change the situation by attacking the opponents but some of her spikes immediately resulted in loss of points due to successful blocks of Poland. As a result first set finished with easy win for Poland, 25-7.
The second set started with unchanging dominance on the court by Poland, who made a 4-0 run without strong resistance. Advantage in height of Poland's player was helpful for their blocking as well so at the STT they lead 16-7. In the second set Flakus just continued to practice spikes and tips on Algerian team. With her service this set ended, with no less impressive advantage of Poland, 25-13.
The third set began with higher resistance of Algeria however advantage remained on Poland's side. So that Poland led 8-4 at the first technical timeout. Longer rallies of this set made the match more spectacular, but the result remained unchanged. At the second break Poland was 7 points ahead (16-9). Even the last minutes of this set were marked with Algerian attempts to fight but the victory of Poland was obvious, 25-13.
