S16 teams will participate in the FIVB Volleyball
Girls' Youth World
Championship 2011.
This is how the 16 teams were decided:
As hosts of the competition, Turkey qualified automatically for the
Championship.
The 15 remaining teams qualified thanks to the Continental
Championships:
- Egypt and Algeria won the two qualifying places available at the 2011
Youth African Championship.
- Japan, China and Thailand won the three qualifying places available at the 2010 Youth Asian Championship.
- Turkey, Italy, Serbia, Germany and Poland won the five qualifying
places following the 2011 Youth European Championship.
- USA, Mexico and Puerto Rico won the three qualifying places available at
the 2010 Youth NORCECA Championship.
- Brazil and Argentina won the two qualifying places available at the 2010 Youth South American Championship.

Egypt, Algeria claim Girls' Youth World Championship berths
April 5, 2011 – Egypt and Algeria booked their places at the 2011 FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship over the weekend after they finished first and second respectively at the African Nations Girls' Youth Championship in Cairo.

Japan stun China in showdown to clinch final Youth Olympics berth
May 28, 2010 – Japan stunned rivals China in the
8th Asian Youth Girls’ Volleyball Championship final after beating them in
a breathless 3-0 (25-21 25-20 25-14) win, clinching the final berth for
the inaugural Youth Olympic Games and qualification for the FIVB Volleyball Girls' Youth World Championship 2011.

Turkey clinch first European Girls' Youth title
May 8, 2011 – Turkey claimed their first ever gold medal in any age group on May 8 as the girls’ youth side clinched top spot in the Girls’ Youth Volleyball European Championship with a straight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) win over Italy in front of 4,000 home fans.

USA win gold and tickets to Singapore and Turkey
May 2, 2010 - USA defeated Mexico in four sets (25-19, 25-21, 15-25, 25-17) winning their fifth consecutive title and sixth overall at NORCECA Girls’ Youth Volleyball Championship. In the process they also won the ticket to the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore next August.

Brazil win CSV Girls’ Youth Championship
August 29, 2010 – Brazil beat Argentina to top spot in the CSV Girls’ Youth Championship on August 29 last year as both teams qualified for the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ Youth World Championship, due to take place in Ankara, Turkey from August 12 to 21, 2011.
