Team profile

PUERTO RICO GIRL'S YOUTH NATIONAL TEAM

Puerto Rico Girl's Youth National team qualify to FIVB World Championship in Turkey, after finish in third place during the 2010 NORCECA Championship in Guatemala. The squad beat Dominican Republic in the match per third place and last position in Turkey WC.

The team training hard during the last eight month, under the supervision of head coach, Eric Gonzalez.

Puerto Rico celebrated different friendly matches against local team, also international club. During last april participate in invitational tournament in Peru, also play the I Youth Pan American Cup in Mexico.

This will be the five participation of the Island in Girl's Youth World Championship, the best place are 10th in 1991 in Portugal.

 
Coach profile
This is the first FIVB Volleyball Girls’ Youth World Championship for Eric Gonzalez since he began his tenure with the team at last year’s NORCECA Championship in Guatemala.
 
Gonzalez has also worked as assistant coach of Alejandro Arconada’s Youth & U-15 teams for the last year as well.
 
Gonzalez is the second generation of coaching in Puerto Rico sport as his father, Alejandro ‘Witito’ Gonzalez, is a coach in the national baseball league and was also one of the greatest amateur baseball players in the island’s history.
