USA head coach: "My girls got a wonderful experience from this World Championship."

USA head coach James Stone: “We played very hard, but also played well. We got reception air to win, but when we had a two-point margin, we could not make it. The bad thing is that we always lost crucial points although we had a close game. The Dominicans have a good attack. I can’t say that I’m satisfied with my team’s form as we tried hard but still lost in three sets. However, I think my girls got a wonderful experience here. This is the biggest international tournament that my girls have played so far.”

Captain Carly Wopat: “We tried hard, but could not win. I’m disappointed with our bad form. I thought that we could win this match, but we actually could not make it.”

Dominican Republic head coach Enrique Larrazaleta: “I’m happy that my girls won the tough match against the USA. I think to win the match, you have to be strong in blocking and spiking. That’s what we had prepared ahead of this match. This is one of our best performances we had played in the championship. However, I praise the USA that they are also strong. Their reception is excellent.”

Captain Yeniffer Cristina Ramirez Espinal: “We played well to win the match. I got valuable experience from competing in this championship.”
