"We want the fifth place" says Peruvian coach

Peru’s captain Vivian Baella: “We did not want to play another tie-break, so we played all for all in the fourth set and it worked out”.

Coach Manuel Hernan Artieda: “At the beginning of the tournament I said we wanted to finish among the best eight, now we are among the best six but we really want to get the fifth place. I’d like to play Italy tomorrow, as this would be an additional experience for us to play a team we have never faced so far in the tournament. Today at a certain point I changed the setter: she is suffering of stomachache and she was not in a good condition, so with the back-up our level rose up back and that was quite a good move”.

Thai captain Chuewulim Sutadta: “I am sad because I think we might have played much better than what we did today. We’ll see for tomorrow; if we meet Japan, then our opponent will be playing a kind of volleyball similar to ours; if we face Italy, it is going to be tough, as they are very tall and powerful”.

Coach Kulchim Sanong: “It was not an easy match for us and the girls are tired”.
