Almirante Brown, Argentina, August 24, 2011 - When Egypt scored the last point of the 3-1 victory over Puerto Rico, the Polideportivo Municipal Hall roared as if it was located in Africa. The Egyptian team, which has been playing here through the whole first round, is one of the favourites of the crowd, so much that when the game ended, the players celebrated with the people that supported them on the game.
After shaking hands with the Puerto Rican team, the Egyptians jumped over the fences and started to celebrate with the people. All of them went out of the court, signing autographs and taking photos with the ecstatic crowd.
"It was my idea. The people love them", were the words of Aly Elsirgany, team manager of Egypt. "They communicate with the spectators during the game, waving and saluting them, and people like it", he added.
"In the end we do a little celebration, because we are very funny", explained the manager. After each victory, the players gather in the center of the court and a staff member drops the ball over them. They all fall into the floor as if the Mikasa were a bomb, for the delight of their fans.
Elsirgany travelled a lot with National Teams, but for the Egyptians and for himself "there are no people like the Argentineans. They are very warm".
Even all the people enjoyed with them at the end, the girls were the happiest. "They are very handsome and took photos with us", said Carla, one of the fans after the captain, Mohamed Marawan, sat with her and all the team in the tribune.
