Creation of the Volley-Ball National Centre in Montpellier.
1985 : The players of the French Team prepare themselves
during 18 months the World Championship, which takes place in France in 1986.
In September, France finishes 3rd at the
European Championship in Holland.
In November, France finishes 2nd at the
Seoul top ten.
1991 : France finishes 7th at the 2nd World
Championship in Portugal.
1995 : France
finishes 9th at the World Championship in Porto Rico.
France finishes 4th at the First European
Championship in Spain.
1997 : France
finishes 7th at the World Championship in Iran.
France finishes 5th at the European
Championship.
1999 : France
finishes 9th at the World Championship
France finishes 7th at the European Championship.
2001 : France finishes 7th at the World
Championship.
France finishes 3rd at the European
Championship.
2003 : France does not manage to qualify for the 2003
European Championships and the 2003 World Championships.
2005: France brings back a silver medal, after losing versus Poland in
Final of the European Championship.
France finishes at the 6th place of the World Championships after losing
versus Iran.
2007 : France wins every single game of the Qualification Tournament and
thus wins its ticket for the 2007 European Championships which will take place
in Austria in April..
Qualified for the 2007 European Championships in Austria, France defeats
Poland in final and wins the first international title in the history of French
Volley-ball. They are awarded the European Champions title and picked up the
world bronze medal.
2009 : In Rotterdam, Nederland, France becomes, for the second time
consequently, European champion.
In World Championship in Italy, France finished at 12th
place.
2010 : In Herentals, Belgium, France won the Eight
Nations tournament.
2011: In Turkey, France brings back a silver medal, after losing versus
Serbia (3-2) in Final of the European Championship.
