Argentina took the lead 8-7 relying on the blocking of Franetovich and the kills by Castellani. They increased the margin to 11-8 with two spikes of Vaca followed by one ace of Finoli. At 15-10, Algeria reacted behind Benkahoul and Baadji to close at 15-13 but Castellani answered back for the 16-10 and the control of the set. One block by Vaca closed it 25-16.
Two aces from Kerboua following a block by Benkahoul gave Algeria the lead 8-6 in the second set. Carried by Castellani’s attacks, Argentina went in front 13-12 and arrived to the pause 16-15 with a spike by Quiroga. A couple of Argentinean attacking errors combined with a block by Benkaahoul gave back the lead to Algeria 18-17. Argentina reacted and regained the command 20-18 with a block by Ramos and attack by Quiroga. They went on to win 25-20.
Aces by Zouai and Kerboua contributed to an 8-7 lead of Algeria in the third set. After a tie at 8 following a serving error, teams traded points and Algeria scored four in a row, including three by Baadji for a 13-9 margin. Algeria was in front 16-13 in the second pause but when the play resumed Argentina bounced back to tie at 16-all with a spike by Castellani following a block by Ramos. Tied at 21, Baadji and Vega exchanged kills and Algeria called a time-out. Vega scored with an ace but Baadji responded. Argentina won in its third chance 28-26 with spike of Quiroga and error of Algeria.
