Bulgaria has won all seven matches played against Egypt until now and in the process lost only one set during the last game of the 2007 FIVB World Cup.
Bulgaria coach, Radostin Stoytchev: "We are very happy because of the victory. I knew we had to fight for this victory and we had to suffer it to win this match. The adrenaline and the tension were too big but I am happy because of the boys, the audience and the people in front of the television. Today is a really good day for the Bulgarian sport and the Bulgarian volleyball".
France captain Pierre Pujol: "Bulgaria played really good, made a good match and I just wish them all the best in London. For us it is a big disappointment because we prepared this match for the last 4 years. Now it is important to work and continue to grow up as a team.
Egypt has avoided the last place at the FIVB Olympic Qualification Tournament in Sofia, defeating Pakistan 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 26-24). Although considered an absolute outsider, the team from Asia was close to win its first set in the Olympic Qualification in the history, wasting the set ball in the third at 24-23.
Egypt captain Ashraf Abouelhassan: "Today the players in my team followed everything the coach said. We started playing better and we would like to do our best against Bulgaria".
Pakistan captain Naseer Ahmed: "We played our game and we made a good match but like in every game one team win and the other lose. The third set was good but we lost our chance to win it".
