FIVB Men's World Olympic Qualification Tournament 2012 | Bulgaria

MATCH INFO

Philippe Blain: We had a very bad match but we made a good victory

France defeated easily Egypt 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15) at the start of FIVB Men's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Sofia.

France coach Philippe Blain: "A number is enough to comment a match which was not good: a total number of 63 opponents' errors. But we made a good victory. For us tomorrow will be kind of final against Bulgaria and I hope to win this match".

France captain Pierre Pujol: "This game was really important for us and I am very proud of the team. It took us a lot of time to adopt our look and in the second set the setter of Egypt tried to change their game. It has been a good match for us and also nice start of the tournament. Our hopes are to win the match against Bulgaria".

Egypt coach Elshemerly Sherif: "We didn't prepare well for a lot of reasons and we really tried to play well but we are not in a good form. We tried to put the French team under pressure with serves but our strategy failed because we lost a lot of them. Because of political problems in Egypt from January we have only played 2 matches thus our form is not very good. I hope step by step to improve our game and we will do our best to win the next match".

Egypt captain Ashraf Abouelhassan: "In my opinion we played very good at the beginning of the game but still we are very far from the high level we want to achieve. Unfortunately, we didn't have any matches before this one and I think that if we did, our chances would have been better".
