European champions Serbia finished the FIVB Men’s Olympic Qualification Tournament at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium with a perfect 7-0 record, dropping just one set in the whole tournament. They earned the first of two tickets to London. Serbia were bronze medalists in Atlanta 1996 and won the gold medal in the Sydney Summer Games in 2000.
Australia sealed the second qualification spot as Asia’s representative. It will be Australia's third time in the Games.
