There are no easy teams in the World League - Wallace

Wallace is Brazil's best scorer in the World League Finals with 31

Mar del Plata, Argentina, July 19, 2013 - Wallace was Brazil's top scorer with 18 points in their 3-0 win against Canada in the final match of pool play at the 2013 World League Finals.

A swollen left knee forced Vissotto out of the Brazil team for their must-win match and Wallace proved an able replacement.

"It's not the first time I entered like this in a tournament, Leandro injured himself in the Olympics. I have to be prepared, this is my mentality, to be prepared for anything that happens."

"Unfortunately he is injured, and I have to always be willing to substitute him and do a good job - it doesn't affect my confidence. When he returns [from injury] we will fight again [for a team place], but against him it's always difficult."

Canada posed a significant threat to Brazil's chances of reaching the semifinals after beating Olympic champions Russia, and Wallace said there was plenty of respect for them among his teammates.

"They're always difficult to play, in the World League last year we lost to them - there aren't easy teams to play in this World League."

Meanwhile, Canada's super sub Gavin Schmitt, whilst upset with the result, was happy with his team's performance:

"I'm pretty disappointed with the game of our performance because we didn't do our best today, but they are Brazil, world number one, did a great job and made it difficult for us.

"I'm very happy with our team, we had a lot of pressure on ourselves in the last group (Intercontinental Round) and we could accomplished that. We won seven games in a row and the last one against Russia which is great, really big for us.

"We showed we can play on the big stage in the world and beat great teams in the future."

Justin Duff said Brazil was as expected: "They played really good in defence but we know that about Brazil, and it's not surprising, they've got a great coach and skilled players-

"We made a lot of mistakes and if you're going to give Brazil a few points, they're going to take it. It's disappointing because I don't think we didn't represent ourselves as good as we can but they played a solid match.

"We want to continue, not being seen as the Cinderella Story, we want to be seen as a good gentleman team in the world."
