Brazil's Bruno Rezende: “We showed that we have a team.”

São Paulo, Brazil, June 28, 2013 – Brazil coach Bernardo Rezende has praised his team following their 3-2 FIVB World League win over France (25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 21-25 and 15-12) on Friday.

“France is a team with a really good defence”, said Rezende. “We lost our concentration in the third set, and we took good lessons from that game. It is only our fifth match with this group of players this year. However, we need to remember that France has a lot of quality. They did really good games against teams like Poland, Bulgaria and United States.”

“It was an important win for us”, Brazilian captain Bruno Rezende added. “We showed that we have a team. The setter William Arjona and the opposite spiker Wallace came from the bench and played really well during key moments. We lost our concentration in the third set and we could have been more aggressive.”

France setter Rafael Redwitz was sad about the loss but happy about his team’s attitude. “For all the teams in the world is hard to come to Brazil and play them. But I think it was a great opportunity for our young team. We will learn a lot from that game. We had our chances and the game was close.”
