Estadio Nacional fuera de la ecuación de la Liga Mundial

Polonia es uno de los equipos más apoyados del mundo

Lausana, Suiza, 14 de febrero de 2013 - La Federación Polaca de Voleibol confirmó que su intención de albergar el partido de la Liga Mundial FIVB 2013 en el Estadio Nacional de 58.500 asientos ha quedado en suspenso.

Polonia estaba investigando la posibilidad de tener su partido de apertura por la Liga Mundial frente a Brasil en Junio en el Estadio Nacional de Varsovia, sin embargo, a raíz de una visita de inspección por parte del entrenador de la selección nacional Andrea Anastasi, el técnico asistente Andrea Gardini y oficiales de la Federación Polaca de Voleibol, la Federación Polaca de Voleibol ha decidido centrarse en la posibilidad de que esta sede sea utilizada para el partido inaugural de los Campeonatos del Mundo FIVB 2014 masculino en el 2014.

"El Voleibol polaco merece ser promovido de una manera especial", dijo el presidente de la Federación Polaca de Voleibol Miroslaw Przedpelski. "Por eso vamos a organizar el partido inaugural de los Campeonatos Mundiales FIVB masculino 2014 en el estadio", explicó.

El Estadio Nacional de Polonia se terminó en noviembre del 2011, y fue utilizado como sede de la Eurocopa 2012 de fútbol. También es sede de espectáculos de teatro y conciertos de rock.
