We don’t want to continue to be a second-night team: Knipe

From left, Brazil captain Gilberto "Giba" Godoy, Brazil coach Barnardo Rezende, U.S. coach Alan Knipe and U.S. captain William "Reid" Priddy speak at the press conference in Tulsa.

U.S. coach Alan Knipe: We don’t want to continue to be a second-night team. It’s not something we’re proud of. At the same time, it takes considerable character to be able to do it. Brazil is a very, very good team; technically sound. We've had two great matches here and two great matches in Brazil.

U.S. captain William “Reid” Priddy:  We seem to be a second-night team. We played more like a team the second night. We had our best week of practice so far this week.

Brazil captain Gilberto “Giba” Godoy: It was a hard match. The U.S. played well on the attack. Anderson played much better than last night. We arrive in Poland on Monday night and have to play on Wednesday. I need to play for qualification. I need to concentrate on Wednesday.

Brazil coach Bernardo Rezende: Congratulations to the U.S. I’m sorry we did not play the same. For sure it is my fault for not giving them the right motivation and attention to focus on this match.
