Germany captain Robert Kromm: "We caught a very bad start into the game. After losing the first set we improved our service, block and defence a lot. The spectators pushed us, we were in a flow. Unfortunately we started very badly in the fifth set. It was a good game, tomorrow we want to win."

Russia coach Vladimir Alekno: "I am very happy to have won the match. After we easily went through our matches at home it was our first game abroad. I am happy that we turned the match, I am proud with my players."

Germany coach Raúl Lozano: "Russia played very well, my team had to many ups and downs. In sets two, three and four we showed a spectacle and the audience was enthusiastic. The second and the third set were the two best in this season."
