Hector “Picky” Soto, captain of Puerto Rico: “We played well for three sets and had chances in the first two but couldn’t close. In the fourth set, a lot of things happened. I don’t know if it was lack of gas or lack of concentration but it was a disaster. At the end we couldn’t get any points and it was a painful loss.”
William “Reid” Priddy, captain of USA: “It was a very tough match with Puerto Rico touching a lot of balls making it very difficult for us. A lot of up and downs in our game but we remained patient. I think that was the key for us. I am glad we got the victory.”
Carlos Cardona, coach of Puerto Rico: “We played three good sets with a lot of everything. The fourth set was very different and I think the team was mentally tired. We played better than yesterday but don’t forget the kind of rival we are facing. Except for the fourth set it was a good match for us.”
