German captain Robert Kromm: "We hope the result tomorrow will be the opposite"

Head coaches and captains during the press conference in Kaliningrad
Russia coach Vladimir Alekno: “We didn’t expect there would be so many spectators today. I’m sure it helped the team to take the match. I can’t say it was one player who helped us win; it was the whole team who did it. The only thing that concerns me is that we had mistakes that we should not see at any level of play. We should work on it.”

Russia captain Taras Khtei: “I’m happy we took another three points, though I think our coach didn’t recognize his team in the first set because of the errors we made. I thought the German game was praiseworthy; it’s good we didn’t give them a point.”

Germany coach Raul Lozano: “We would like to congratulate the Russian team. Both teams played at the same level, but the Russians were better at the end of the sets. I’m sure we can play much better and I hope the spectators will see it tomorrow.”

Germany captain Robert Kromm: “I congratulate the Russian team for their good play. We were unstable and made a lot of errors when serving. We will try to avoid them tomorrow and hope the result will be the opposite.”
