The goddess of fortune smiled on us: Samuels

The Korea-Cuba post-match press conference on Sunday.

Cuban coach Orlando Samuels: "Today, we showed a better performance than yesterday. Blocking, service and attack were very good and the Cuban players made fewer unforced errors as we adapted to the time difference. Also, the goddess of fortune smiled on our team at the end of the second set."

"The most impressive player on the Korean team was No.4 Jeon Kwang-in. He had the best attack patterns, service and jump among the Korean players. The Cuban players were troubled by his attacks and could not deal with them very well."

Cuban captain Wilfredo Leon: "As I mentioned yesterday, we were trying to reduce the number of errors and I think every player on the Cuban team did a good job. I am very pleased with the victory and this match is a good experience for both the Korean team and the Cuban team"

Korean Captain Kwon Young-Min: "In the first set, we dominated the flow of the game. Unfortunately, we lost our tempo due to the strong serves from the Cuban players in the middle of the second set. I feel sad because we couldn't change things to catch up with Cuba at the end of the second set and this was the main factor of today's defeat."

Korean coach Park Ki-Won: "We had a poor performance in the areas of service reception and service. We were especially nervous at critical moments and I think it is mainly from the lack of experience of international competitions. With so many errors on serve reception, our overall game speed was slower than yesterday's and accordingly quick attacks did not go well."
