Argentina with a victory nearly sure qualifies for the Final Round in Poland

Argentina will be looking for another victory at home.

Formosa, Argentina, June 23, 2011 – After a terrific match on Thursday, Argentina and Finland are ready to face each other again in the 2011 FIVB World League at the state-of-the-art Cincuentenario Sport Centre.

With eight wins in nine games, the light blue-and-whites already have their best record in the history of the competition and Javier Weber's team will almost certainly be assured of a place in the Final Round in Poland if they win again on Friday.

With the two points won this Thursday, Argentina are already guaranteed to finish among the best two teams in Pool C, but things could depend on Poland who qualify as the host country. So Argentina's goal is to keep winning.

Finland, meanwhile, lost their chance of qualifying for Gdansk, but their goal is partially to stop Argentina and, as coach Daniel Castellani has mentioned, to play better and better in each match.

The eight consecutive victories of Argentina represents the best campaign of any Argentine  team in the FIVB World League.  The seven victories obtained in the year 2006 and 2009 have been exceeded, but there are still three matches left in the Intercontinental Round, so the end result has not been confirmed yet.
