Surgut, Russia, June 18, 2011 – A night after a clear win over Japan in the first match of this weekend, the Russian national team will face the Japanese again in Surgut on Sunday night.
Japan seemed affected by the flights and overawed by the Russian performance on Saturday. The Russian team was happy with their seventh victory in a row, with a confident performance in serving and attack. They are 7-0 in Pool B while Japan fell to 1-6.
Japan coach Tatsuya Ueta believes his team will be able to show its fighting spirit and play up to its potential tomorrow by changing tactics: “We received and attacked well, but Russia was stronger and impressed with its performance. We will try to change and improve our game tomorrow.”
