Argentina and Portugal to meet in Catamarc despite torrid travel

The two sides will clash on Saturday and Sunday
Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 14, 2011 – Argentina and Portugal are all set to clash this weekend in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World League despite a turbulent journey to the South American country following the volcano eruption in Chile.

The two sides will meet in Catamarca although the trip to the city continues after all flights into Buenos Aires were cancelled due to concerns over the ash spewing from the Puyebue eruption. Both teams took a flight that left Madrid very early on Wednesday morning and will now make it to the venue safely and on time.

Argentina has an incredible record of five victories out of the six matches played during the first three weekends which sees them sit on top of Pool C with 14 points while Portugal chase them with three victories and three defeats.

The matches will take place on Saturday and Sunday, at Capital Fray Mamerto Esquiú Sport Centre.
