Korea looks for first win over Cuba in 2011 FIVB World League

Korea failed to win a match in last year's FIVB Volleyball World League and are looking to make a marked improvement in this year's edition
Suwon, Korea, May 25, 2011 – Korea have said their opening 2011 FIVB Volleyball World League match against Cuba on Friday and Saturday will be a key indicator as to whether they can avoid last place in this year’s contest.

The side suffered 12 defeats during the 2010 edition but recovered to redeem their place through the playoffs. But the side has a new coach in Ki-Won Park as well as a host of new players to call upon.

Korea have competed in 12 World Leagues in total, reaching the Final Round just once in 1995.

The Asian country is well aware that Cuba’s power and height is going to be an issue for them, and have called on home fans to help cheer them on as they aim to use a solid defense and will power to clinch victory.
