Friedrichshafen, Germany 11.06.2011 – Germany at its first home match wanted to start with a victory and reduce the back to second of the group Bulgaria. But the plan did not add up in the first two sets because of two reasons: The German attackers made too many mistakes and the Japanese put a lot of pressure on the German reception. Additionally the Asian team had an amazing success in attack (62%).
German head coach Raúl Lozano: “This weekend we played at home the first time and we noticed that the pressure was higher than playing abroad. We have to stop thinking about the match of today. The next match is already tomorrow. The team is in good shape.”
Japanese head coach Tatsuya Ueta: “We played better than in Russia and Bulgaria. There we were very tired because we had to acclimate. In the first match with Germany we showed our abilities and tomorrow we want to win our first match.”
The second match of the weekend again will take place in Friedrichshafen, Germany on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
