  Middle blocker (205 cm, 90 kg) Maxwell (Max) Holt was born on March 12, 1987 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he also grew up. Max joined the US team in 2009. Prior to that Holt was a member of the US junior team from 2005-2007. He played in the Four Nations Tournament in 2005, the NORCECA Junior Continental Championship in 2006, and the FIVB Junior World Championships where the team took seventh.

Holt played in 41 sets for the US in 2010, finishing with 57 points on 41 kills (0.372 hitting percentage), 13 blocks (0.32 blocks per set) and three aces (0,07 aces per set). During the winter of 2010-11, he played for Copra Morpho Piacenza in Italy’s Serie A league.
