|
Being only 21 years old, Dmitry Shcherbinin is already a silver (2010) and bronze (2011) medalist at the CEV Champions League, a Russian champion (2008) and a Russian National Cup winner(2008). In 2010 he became the bronze medalist of the Russian Superleague. All these achievements are made with the only one team – “Dynamo” (Moscow) who Dmitry joined in 2007 after graduating from the Moscow “Olympus” sportschool. As well as representing Russian national teams at different levels, Shcherbinin also won the 2009 Universiade in Belgrade and took bronze on the 2008 CEV Junior European Championship in Brno (Czech Republic) by beating the Netherlands in the classification match.
Dmitry joined the senior team in the 2010 season and was a solid substitute for Dmitry Musersky and Alexander Volkov during the 2010 FIVB Volleyball World League and 2010 Volleyball FIVB World Championship. During the current season Shcherbinin led the best blockers charts and remains one of Russia's biggest hope for the future.
